If you would like to read the what past visitors have thought, you can access reviews here. We prefer for visitors to book and pay through the tee reservation service, but cash payment on the day is possible by using the honesty box in the club foyer. If you choose to pay cash, please select ‘cash payment’ when making your booking online.

All visitor, social and corporate enquiries should be made by email to the Visitor & Club Convenor

Orkney Golf Club is a non profit organisation run by volunteer members, so the club relies on the honesty of visitors and locals to pay the set fees to maintain the course.

All play must commence from the 1st Tee and should be from the yellow tee markers ( Gents ) and red tee markers  ( Ladies ). Please note that only one player per bag is permitted whilst playing Kirkwall Golf Course.

Tee-times may be restricted on club competition days, especially at the weekend, but there are usually some times left available for non-competition bookings. For further information, check the fixture list, available tee times on the booking system or make an enquire by email.

There are a number of Open Competitions during the season that offer visitors (with a handicap) the opportunity to play the course at a reduced rate. The dates of these competitions can be established by accessing the fixture list link above.

For Cruise line passengers the course is situated one mile from the dock. Passengers can make transport enquiries with your ship’s reception or contact taxi’s directly, on 01856 875 000, or 01856 878 787.

In mid summer it is possible to play late into the evening and “Open Midnight Golf ” is a feature on the fixture card.

Orkney Golf Club’s course has an abundance of wildlife such as, nesting birds, Orkney voles and rabbits, so please be aware that dog walking is not allowed on the course.

If you require a number of sets of clubs or trolleys it is essential to confirm availability and book in advance to the Visitor & Club Convenor by email.
