Orkney Golf Club is now delighted to welcome visiting golfers of all abilities back to play golf.

Please follow these instructions to comply with the covid 19  guidelines.

We require you to book a tee time, please email the club secretary 24 hours in advance of play, he will provide you with bank details to pay your green fee, he will then book you a tee time.

There is no trolley or club hire available.

All play must commence from the 1st Tee.

Under normal circumstances there is not a booking system for tee times – it is an arrive-and-play course and tee times are usually available during the day, however if there are number in your party it would be best to contact us in advance by email so we can arrange a person to meet you and arrange your clubs or trolley hire if you require these. On club competition days tee-times may be restricted, especially at the weekend, but there are usually times available to play, for further information, check the fixture list or enquire by email when it will be possible to play.

For Cruise line passengers the course is situated one mile from the dock, transport is readily available either enquire with your ship reception about transport or contact taxi’s directly, the taxi numbers are 01856 5000, or 01856 878787.

In mid summer it is possible to play late into the evening and “Open Midnight Golf ” is a feature on the fixture card.

Orkney Golf Club is a non profit organisation run by the members.

The club relies on the honesty of visitors and locals to pay the set fees to maintain the course.

The green fees should be paid in to the honesty box inside the clubhouse foyer. (See above for covid arrangements.)

Please keep your receipt, as green staff may request it.

Please do not play without first paying your fee.

All play should be from the Yellow Tee Markers ( Gents ) and Red Tee Markers  ( Ladies )

Orkney Golf Club’s course has an abundance of Wild Life, Nesting Birds, Orkney Voles, etc therefore dogs are not allowed on the course.

There are a number of Open Competitions during the season check the fixture calendar for details of these as the entry fee to a Open Competition is usually less then a day rate. You will require to have a handicap to enter.

Club and trolley hire

Hire clubs and trolleys can be obtained on the day by contacting the green staff on 07538163346 during their working hours  6.30 – 15.00   Monday -Friday.

You may also contact the club house, the number  is 01856872457  but please note the clubhouse is not always staffed.

If the green staff are unavailable several club members act as volunteers to issue clubs, try some of these numbers they may be able to help at short notice.

The club has a selection of modern Wilson clubs for hire including Ladies and Left Handed   ……   £20. per day

Pull-trolleys are available to hire  …..   £5. per day

The club does not have electric trolleys or club carts for hire.

If you require a number of sets of clubs or trolleys it is essential to confirm availability and book in advance to the secretary by email.
