Members Letter from the Club Captain May 2023

Hello Members

Now that the 2023 season is up and running and nearing the third month of the summer season the course is drying up nicely and hopefully when the cold winds that have been persistent so far this season ease and the temperature rises this will help the course to flourish even more.
Sorry that it is a bit late but there is a update of work undertaken by our head greenkeeper Chris and his team over the past winter attached.

On the competitions front they have been attracting healthy entries in all sections which is great to see and very keenly contested with most competitions results very close indeed with countback having to be used frequently.
The Matchplay knockouts are ongoing, could I ask that you try and get your games played on time to keep them progressing nicely. A wee reminder to always book your Tee times for these matches and also for just general social play.

Our membership is also remaining positive with the welcome addition of 15 new members from our Open day. This is very encouraging to see and along with the Ladies beginners nights, Get in to Golf sessions and the junior coaching restarting this will give these members the tuition they need.

The clubhouse has had the games room turn into a store this last month as we have undertaken a much needed kitchen refurbishment which is nearing completion and I must say will be a huge improvement and benefit to the club. Many thanks to the tradesmen and everyone who has been involved in the project it is very much appreciated.
We still have a vacant Clubhouse Convenor position on committee, anyone who feels they would have the time and willingness to help out with this please give me a call and I would happily talk over what is involved with you.

We are very pleased with our new addition of the Tee markers, personally I am delighted how they have turned out and thanks must go to all our very generous sponsors who have taken on the 3 years sponsorship.

Kind Regards.
